Brad Pitt, Taylor Swift, and the royals

They deserve their privacy.

During the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, sex goddess Angelina Jolie seduced sex god Brad Pitt away from his then-wife, Jennifer Aniston.  Part of the bait was that Pitt wanted to become a biological father, which did not seem to be in the cards with Aniston.  They produced three biological children together, and Pitt also adopted the multi-ethnic group of children Jolie had adopted previously.

Jolie subsequently had a double mastectomy, for reason that she carries a gene that makes it almost certain she would develop breast cancer.

I did not pay any attention to their divorce.

Now a social media post has been “unearthed” from three years ago, from the private Instagram account of the second-oldest adopted son, Pax, who is Viet Namese; in which, on Father’s Day, the then 17-year old Pax said absolutely horrible things about his father.

It reminds me so much of exactly how some people speak about Joe Biden.

I remember myself at age 17.  At that time, I hated my parents.  Every one of my friends hated his or her own parents, too, albeit we generally thought each other’s parents were cool.  I remember intentionally dreaming up, searching for, the most hurtful things I could possibly say to them.

And I was a born-again Christian at the time, too.

So, families go through these things.

No one needs to have their dirty laundry washed out in public.

They deserve their privacy.

Taylor Swift:  I’ve admired her for years.  Both the music and the person.  She’s a mensch.  She exudes authenticity.

She does not need, does not deserve, the over-the-top, excessive public scrutiny the media have subjected her to in the past three or four months, ever since she started dating Travis Kelce, a football player I had absolutely never heard of before.

They cannot do anything, cannot be seen anywhere in public, without its becoming national news.

And so, on to the royals.  I lay great blame at the feet of the “royals watchers” and “royals experts” who make money from spreading rumors about some imagined tiff between Harry and William, between Harry and Charles.  It’s a family, and these things deserve to be worked out within the family.

They deserve their privacy.
