False prophets in the Bible

Working on the post “Other Jesus sayings,” which will probably appear in December, I must soon deal with Jesus saying, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country,” etc. (Mt. 13:57, Mk. 6:4, Lk. 4:24).

Those whom I regard as false prophets today are trolls.

In the Bible, the false prophets were those who sing the praises of the powers that be; for example, the Baal prophets who surrounded Jezebel, and those who resisted Jeremiah.

Donald Trump has surrounded himself with such people.
